I work in oils, acrylics and digital media to create Fantasy, Sci-Fi and Horror images. I am a winner in the 2004 Illustrators of the Future Contest and am currently employed as a Graphic Artist in San Antonio, TX.
I’ve created cover and interior art for small press and magazine publishers and am always open to new commissions.
My work is primarily fantasy painted in thin layers of washes and glazes, though I sometimes try to be more painterly, I tend to build up my images instead of fast and thick use of paint.
I use bright tones and a more intense color palette then is usual for no other reason then that’s what appeals to me.
My influences range from early exposure to the works of Norman Rockwell and paintings of obscure local artists hanging on my parents walls to the illustration work of the Brothers Hildebrandt, Boris Vallejo, Michael Whelan, and most importantly the work of Frank Frazetta.
