Journey into the unique world of The Federal Duck Stamp Contest with The Million Dollar Duck, available on Digital HD and On Demand August 9 from Lionsgate. Known as one of the most effective conservation programs ever initiated, The Federal Duck Stamp Contest has simultaneously spawned a unique American movement brimming with talent, ego, art, controversy, big money, and migratory waterfowl. Winner of both the Audience and Grand Jury Awards for Best Documentary Feature at the 2016 Slamdance Film Festival and produced by 3-time Academy Award®-winning documentary filmmaker Mark Jonathan Harris (Into the Arms of Strangers: Stories of the Kindertransport, Best Documentary (Feature), 2000), this is not a film to be missed. The Million Dollar Duck will premiere on Animal Planet on September 14 as part of the network’s documentary feature franchise Animal Planet Presents, which features the best of blue-chip documentaries and films from top filmmakers.

The Million Dollar Duck follows the humorous and heartfelt journey of six wildlife artists competing to win the Federal Duck Stamp Contest — the only juried art competition run by the U.S. government and one of the most successful conservation tools ever created. Feathers will be ruffled and some egos will be bruised, but for one contestant, winning “the Olympics of wildlife art” will be life-changing.
