Director Michael celebrates fandom with his documentary Valentine Comix: Beyond the Comic Book Pages, which explores the worldwide comic book phenomenon. The film showcases the thoughts and images of comic book creators, artists, writers, and collectors, and especially the passionate fans who have made the art form the success that it is today.
Comix: Beyond the Comic Book Pages includes exclusive one-on-one interviews with icons from the comic book industry, like Stan Lee (Spiderman, X-Men, Fantastic Four) and Frank Miller (Sin City, 300). The film also captures the fans, many dressed in full costume, as they discuss their love for the characters and cosplay, at conventions such as San Diego Comic-Con, Wizard World and more.
Comix: Beyond the Comic Book Pages will be released on DVD and VOD July 19th, 2016 and features interviews with Neal Adams, Tianna Atwood, Tomer Bar-Or, Mike Choi, Amanda Conner, Joseph Culp, Lou Ferrigno, Renae Geerlings, Betsy Gonia, Christian Gossett, Paul Grimshaw, Chris Gutierrez, Matt Hawkins, Alaina Huffman, Doug Jones, Stan Lee, Joe Maddalena, Todd McFarlane, Frank Miller, Steve Niles, Andy Park, Alexis Quasarano, Al Reano, John Romita Jr., Bryan Rountree, Marc Silvestri, Diana Tolin and Mark Waid.
